March 4

Just looked at the calendar to confirm the date for this next Sunday.......March 4.   March 4? MARCH 4?!?!?  Really?!?!?  Wow. March has done a sort of "sneak-up ambush" thing on me this year.  I even had an extra day in February, too!

My brain may be having difficulty wrapping its little self around the fact that this coming Sunday will be March 4th, but it is and we are meeting for home group.  The adults will be continuing on with our study of "Holiness".

We haven't planned Mexican Food since January 15th so it MUST be time again.  Mexican Food it is!

See you all Sunday!

February 26

Holiness, holiness is what I long for
Holiness is what I need.
Holiness, holiness is what
You want from me.

We started our study of "Holiness" this last week. The Foreword and Introduction were wonderful and thought provoking. Next Sunday, the 26th, we will dive into Chapter 1, "The Splendor of Holiness". It begins with a quote from C.S. Lewis (one of my very FAVORITE) writers, "How little people know who think that holiness is dull. When one meets the real thing....it is irresistible."

Let's fill our tummies with soup and sandwiches before we dig in to holiness together. :)

Hope to see you all at worship!

February 19

We are ready to launch into the new study of "Holiness".  I know we have all gained so much from the studies of "Brokenness" and "Surrender". This coming Sunday, the 19th, we will start the "Holiness" study by going through the introduction together.

Lunch theme is "chicken". And of course, yummy things that go well with chicken. :)
(My most humble apologies to John Wheeler and anyone else who dislikes chicken!)

Have a wonderful week in the Lord!

February 12, 2012

Mondays are fabulous, are they not?  Happy Monday, everyone!

Home group is on for this coming Sunday, February 12th.  This is our last chapter in the "Surrender" study.  I hope everyone is able to come as we conclude this book and start looking forward to the next in the series, "Holiness".

February 12th is Abraham Lincoln's birthday.  I was thinking we should have some of his favorite foods for lunch to celebrate!  After researching it a little, I discovered this may not work too well. :)  He seems to have really liked apples and hot coffee.  Hmmm. He really didn't care whether he ate or not and had a hard time remembering to eat. Perhaps, we could all learn a little from this?  :)  Since that is the case, why don't we just say "potluck" with no theme involved.  If you want to bring something with apples we will say, "For you, Mr. President!" :)  I'll be sure and have coffee and water, his other beverage of choice. :)

See you all at worship Sunday!
